RP 51 Abe Applies for FBI Job – in 1936

That same month, Abe received a letter from FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover: “Please be advised that your application will receive consideration in the event it is possible to utilize the services of one with your qualifications at a later date.” Soon after Abe received a job offer as a clerk with the newly formed Social Security Administration in Baltimore, and he accepted.
